Dr. Thomas P. Cooper, M.D., Board Member

Thomas P. Cooper, M.D. is a nationally recognized healthcare entrepreneur, having used his medical training and business experience to found several healthcare services companies which have become the national leaders in their respective fields. Companies that Tom has founded include a national emergency physician company (Spectrum Emergency Care: now part of Envision), the largest correctional facility healthcare company (Corizon), the leading provider of mental health programs for long-term care facilities (Vericare) and the largest provider of mobile X-Ray/EKG to nursing homes (Trident). These companies have had combined revenues of over $4 billion, serve over 12,000 facilities, are located in all 50 states and reach more than 10 million patients.

Tom serves as Chairman of the Board of Hanger, the nation’s largest provider of prosthetics and orthotics with over 900 offices. He also serves on the board of Kindred Healthcare, the largest provider of rehab (27,000 therapists ), and home health programs and the second largest hospice provider. With over 110,000 employees, Kindred also operates 105 long term acute care hospitals, 15 inpatient rehab facilities and 95 skilled nursing facilities.

He has served on the board of several other public companies including Community Health Systems, owner and operator of acute care hospitals, and IPC, the largest provider of Hospitalists.

Tom helps early stage health services companies get off the ground and serves on the board of three of these companies. (AristaMD, WoundVision, and RecoverTogether).

He is a partner in a healthcare Venture Capital firm, Aperture Venture Partners, and a senior advisor to a healthcare private equity firm, Frazier Healthcare.

Tom is a frequent lecturer at the nation’s leading business schools including Harvard, MIT, and Dartmouth (Tuck). For three years he taught courses on entrepreneurship at The Columbia Business School.

He received his M.D. from Indiana University and his B.A. from DePauw University. He now lives in LaJolla, CA.

Andrew Boxberger, Board Member

Andrew Boxberger is a partner at Carson Boxberger LLP in Fort Wayne, Indiana. His practice concentrates on corporate law, real estate, economic development and governmental services. He represents businesses, public and private entities, as well as individuals in complex legal matters. Andrew graduated cum laude from Thomas M. Cooley Law School in 2002 and received his undergraduate degree in political science from Xavier University in Cincinnati, Ohio. In addition to the practice of law, Andrew’s professional career includes more than $200-million in real estate transactions as a commercial real estate broker in San Francisco, California.

Andrew concentrates on the representation of businesses with he and Carson Boxberger providing all-encompassing service for those clients at every level. He prides himself on his responsiveness and creativity in servicing his client’s needs. He has established himself as highly regarded corporate council and has been voted by Indiana Super Lawyers as a “Rising Star” numerous times; voted 40 under 40 by Greater Fort Wayne Business Weekly; and he was the youngest to ever be elected to chairman of the board of the prominent Arts United of Greater Fort Wayne, Inc.

Andrew serves in numerous other rolls in the community and with Carson Boxberger, but most importantly he dedicates himself to providing excellent counsel for his clients.
